First School Dance-a-thon is a Great Success

by CharlotteB on February 20, 2010

On February 11th, Metcalfe Public School hosted it’s first dance-a-thon.  The school was a beehive of activity as the kids danced the day away. Appropriately, the theme was the Olympics and the kids stepped up to this bar of excellence, raising over $ 6000!

Grand prizes, door prizes and pizza lunches motivated the students as the sought out sponsors. It was an awesome time.

The kids exceeded the challenge they were given so that Vice Principal Ronci and Principal Nutt will have a Suma wrestling match in front of the whole student body. The V.P. and Principal will be donning their outfits on Feb. 26th between 1:30-2:30 in the school gym. They have been wonderful supports throughout this whole event. What great fun!

Of course, this could not have been possible without the support of those who generously donated their time and money. A special thanks to the McRae family for bringing this dance-a-thon to life!

And of course thank you  to the wonderful community sponsors for their contiributions:
