Programs

The School Council augments the formal school program by delivering our own programs and financial support throughout the year. All funds raised by Council are redistributed directly back into the school. In the past we have used this money to upgrade the school library, build a new play structure and fund a state-of-the-art volley ball system for our gym.

MPS Council currently runs the following programs. Please let us know if you have any comments or suggestions about any of these programs or would like to propose additional ideas.

Hot Lunch Program

Every Friday participating students receive hot dogs, chicken wraps, chicken fingers, pizza, and/or a side or full caesar or house salad on a rotating basis. This program is very popular with our students. We always need volunteers to help make this program successful.

Jingle Bell Bazaar

Our annual Christmas bazaar has become an institution at Metcalfe Public School and is particularly enjoyed by our younger students, who get to surprise family members with gifts they pick out on their own. Older students help run the Bazaar with activities such as manning tables and wrapping the gifts and our volunteers have a blast too!  We always need volunteers for this program.

Can you help out? Let us know.

If you are able to help out with any of the these programs, please contact our volunteer coordinator, Heather Jeffery.
