• The various forms of bullying (cyber, physical, psychological, passive aggressive, aggressive, variations by gender, variations by age, etc.)
• How to confront bullying
• Who to talk to about the issue
• How friends of the bullied can intervene safely
• How bullies can reform and change and how to start this process

Please note that this presentation is intended for parents only. Students will attend an age-appropriate presentation during the school day. We welcome ALL parents in our community to attend this workshop.

The Metcalfe Public School Council Dance-a-Thon held on March 9th, 2012 was a resounding success.  We all enjoyed great dancing and fabulous prizes.  Thanks to everyone who worked so hard.  Together we raised over $4800, which will be used to purchase new technology for our classrooms.  A big congratulations to our top prize winners Kendra, Gracie, Connor and Emma and to our top two classes, Mrs. Stanley’s and Mlle MacLean’s.

The Metcalfe Public School annual Dance-a-thon fundraiser will be held at the school on March 9, 2012 from 9:30 am to 2:15pm.  This year’s theme is “Rock Stars!”. There will be prizes for the most funds raised, as well as door prizes (one ticket awarded for every $5 raised). See the attached flyer for more details.  Pledge forms for participants are available here. Pledge forms and funds should be returned to the school by March 7, 2012.

Also, the Spring Hot Lunch program starts on April 5, 2012.  If participating, please fill out the attached form and return it to your child’s homeroom teacher) by 9 March 2012.  Cheques are payable to the Metcalfe Public School Council.  Please note that the form also contains a small survey regarding the hot lunch program.
